OBJECTIVES:
- Discuss the effects of CO2 depletion in anaerobic RBC storage on ATP and 2,3-DPG levels.
- Describe the metabolic effects of S-303 and Mirasol pathogen reduction technologies on RBCs.
- Relate the in vitro effects of leukoreduction and SOLX additive solution on red cells after 8 weeks’ storage.
- Describe the effect of gender and ABO group on red cell shear stress susceptibility.
