DONOR SCREENING REQUIREMENTS IN THE PRIVATE CORD BLOOD BANK AND RELATED PERIPHERAL BLOOD SETTING
Description
While the donor screening and testing requirements for FDA 351 cellular products have been thoroughly discussed and presented in multiple public forums, the private cord blood bank industry and related peripheral blood centers have not had the equal opportunity to understand these requirements. This topic is intended to educate cellular therapy facilities dealing with privately cord blood intended for related family members and for donor center facilities handling 1st and 2nd degree peripheral blood collections. Common screening tools will be demonstrated and provided to the audience. The audience will have the opportunity to work through various eligibility scenarios.

  • Define the donor screening requirements for FDA 361 products: 1st/2nd degree related cord blood and peripheral blood products.
  • Provide practical tools that be can used in the donor evaluation process.
