Description
The ISBT/AABB Working Party has been developing common areas of interest to work on over the past two years. This session will provide an update of these activities with regard to donor safety and quality control of the cellular product. Specifically, the speakers will discuss microbiological and genomic instability detection of hematopoietic progenitor cell products.

  • Describe the methodology for investigating the genomic stability of cultured cellular products.
  • Discuss the methodologies and their limitations for microbiological detection of organisms in hematopoietic progenitor cells.
  • Discuss various aspects of donor safety with regards to hematopoietic progenitor cell donations.
  • Review the collaborative efforts between ISBT and AABB with regards to cellular therapy.
