Through formal presentations and open discussions, an in-depth review and update will be provided for two controversial issues in transfusion medicine: xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus and transfusion associated acute gut injury. Points and counterpoints will be addressed.

  • Provide update information on xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus and chronic fatigue syndrome as well its relevance to blood donation.
  • Review contract points and counter points of these controversial issues in transfusion medicine.
