- To delineate at a molecular level why some individuals appear to make alloantibodies against blood group antigens that they express.
- To demonstrate the molecular basis for a variety of rare, high-prevalence or novel blood group antigens and phenotypes.
- To recognize the role of some blood group antigens as tumor markers.
