Description
In a slide/lecture format, experts in transfusion-transmitted diseases (TTD) will place in context the status of hepatitis A, hepatitis E, parvovirus B19 and cytomegalovirus to prepare the audience for developments in our response to mitigation of these diseases in the future.

  • Examine the potential importance of hepatitis E to transfusion medicine.
  • Explain the current status of testing for parvovirus B19 and hepatitis A to blood collection facilities.
  • Review the current status of cytomegalovirus-reduced-risk safe transfusion practices.
