  • Discuss how donor gender can affect the extent of hemolysis in RBC units during storage and the implications of RBC donor-specific genetic variations contributing to the storage lesion.
  • Discuss the level of Rh antigenic determinants present on microparticles in platelet concentrates and their potential risk for alloimmunization.
  • Discuss the use of novel animal models to characterize RBC donor-specific alloimmunization factors and to understand the mechanism of antibody-mediated immune suppression.
