Implementing ISBT Labeling for Cellular Therapy Products: Avoid the Headaches
Description
The implementation of ISBT labeling for cellular therapy products presents unique challenges. This session will describe a practical approach to these challenges. Speakers will share a plan for implementation and discuss advantages and disadvantages to both free-standing and integrated systems. This session will also delve into the product description codes and the selection process of codes for manufactured products. Speakers from facilities that have already implemented ISBT labeling will discuss implementation development, challenges and lessons learned.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
  • Develop a plan to implement International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) labeling of cellular therapy products.
  • Discuss challenges and barriers to implementation and determine how to overcome them.
  • Identify the process steps that require labeling and select the appropriate product description codes for products manufactured.
  • Provide a guide for validation of the labeling process and qualification of the labeling material.
