  • Describe the relationship between length of storage of RBC units and patient morbidity and mortality.
  • Evaluate the benefit of reversing warfarin overdoses with vitamin K and low-concentration prothrombin complex concentrate rather than plasma and recombinant Factor VIIa.
  • Evaluate the benefits of preoperative anemia management and intraoperative hemostatic techniques in reducing the need for allogeneic transfusion.
