Description
When reagent QC fails, what approach should you take to determine whether the problem is with the reagent or the techniques (method or equipment)? No one wants to jump to the wrong conclusion and end up spending time investigating a problem that doesn't exist. This session will help you develop a savvy approach to resolving a QC failure using examples from real-life situations. Through review of several approaches and considerations of contributing factors, different methods will be discussed to provide a variety of techniques that can be utilized to investigate and resolve QC failures.

  • Develop an approach to resolve failures in QC testing that will work for your facility.
  • Differentiate between reagent failures and technique failures (including method and equipment) to efficiently move forward to identify the cause of QC failures.
  • Recognize the QC failure to allow quick resolution and the ability to move forward to perform needed patient testing.
