Description
This session will provide an update on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's National Healthcare Safety Network Hemovigilance Module, including an overview of current reporting requirements, data reported in 2010-2011, and changes proposed to increase participation. Participants are invited to provide feedback on their own experience with the NHSN Hemovigilance Module and potential modifications.

  • Provide an overview of the recipient hemovigilance efforts in the US.
  • Provide an update on participation and data reported to the NHSN Hemovigilance Module.
  • Summarize proposed changes to the surveillance protocol, including adverse reaction definitions.
