  • Describe the challenges and benefits of performing TPE simultaneously or in conjunction with other procedures such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and organ transplantation.
  • Describe the challenges associated with the collections of special components such as apheresis double red cells and granulocytes.
  • List the laboratory and clinical parameters that can be used to compare the performance of different apheresis instruments for therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE).
