Description
This audioconference is designed to review current knowledge about granulocyte transfusions, including a literature review of indications and outcomes. The speaker will share his experiences with donor recruitment, stimulation protocol, and component preparation and transport at United Blood Services in Arizona.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
- Describe alternative therapies available for patients requiring ranulocyte transfusions.
- Describe component preparation issues for graunolyte apheresis
- Evaluate the clinical status of a patient requiring granulocyte transfusion.
- Review regulatory or accreditory concerns with granulocyte apheresis.
- Review the donation process for granulocyte apheresis, including donor preparation.
