Minority male students attending North Carolina’s community colleges are experiencing barriers to degree completion. The North Carolina Community College System is working with its 58 community colleges to develop programs that foster success for minority male students. Forty-one of the state’s community colleges provide intensive, intrusive student support services using unique techniques to encourage student retention, completion of developmental education courses, and credential attainment.
