AACC and its partners received a $6.6 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to fund development of Healthcare Virtual Career Platform (HVCP), an open source, open content system designed to facilitate moving individuals into healthcare careers. Users can: explore healthcare occupations; assess interest, aptitude, and readiness to pursue such occupations; identify gaps in required academic preparation or experience; manage their own career development, and search for relevant job openings. This session will demonstrate work to date and the potential power of this prototype as a career development and jobs placement tool for colleges.
