Description
Community college leaders and other practitioners must be familiar with the challenges and opportunities surrounding the Completion Agenda. What’s it all about? Is it doable? Where do we start? Using a town hall meeting format, participants will engage in conversations about big-picture approaches to transforming institutional cultures to advance student success. This session profiles some of these new approaches and invites participants to ask questions and discuss student success initiatives at several community colleges. The session will highlight key completion strategies, how they operate, and what other community colleges may consider incorporating into their own student success initiatives. Participants will learn about evolving student success practices and the systemic changes involved in attaining them. Serious developmental education cost containment challenges, calls for accountability, and the national imperative for workforce development are, in part, driving AACC’s Call to Action for the Completion Agenda.
