Description
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify three or more Internet sites/applications for locating reliable information for use in their legal nurse consulting practice as demonstrated by completing an "information" map.
2. Differentiate between reliable and biased sites by use of a systematic outline of critical evaluation techniques provided to participants in written materials.
Just as the stethoscope is an essential tool in nursing, the Internet is an essential tool in your LNC practice. With all the information available on the Web, LNCs who have the ability to locate and look into credible sources quickly, efficiently and in a cost-effective manner are undeniably respected and highly marketable. Regardless of your practice setting, independent or in-house/expert or consultant, the dynamic medical-legal environment requires the LNC to continuously adapt, optimize and organize their database of resources. Whether you are looking for the secrets to medical-legal research, pearls of wisdom only the medical residents know, how to find reliable standards of care, the mysteries of "cybersleuthing" or just want to find that great Web site again, this fun and interactive session is for you!
