Education Exchange Competition

Have you made a professional discovery that can improve patient care and benefit the practice of dentistry? If so, share your experience and information with your peers in the Inaugural Education Exchange Competition at the 150th Annual Session, September 30th-October 4th in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The 150th Annual Session marks the return of the competition commonly known in the dental meeting arena as "Table Clinics". Participants in the 2009 "Education Exchange Competition" will enter their presentations online, prior to the Annual Session (see link below). Onsite, all presentations will run on flat-screen loops in the Competition Hub on the exhibit floor at the Hawaii Convention Center for attendees of the meeting to view on Thursday-Saturday, October 1st-3rd. The ADA will announce the winners on the afternoon of Saturday, October 3rd and allow participants to network with one another, and attendees to interact with the presenters.

Individuals entering the competition will earn 3-hours of ADA CERP CE at the Annual Session.

The goal of the competition is to allow participants to share their experience, educate their fellow dental professionals, and raise awareness about a procedure, theory, service, or emerging trend in dental practice. An "Education Exchange" is a presentation of research results, clinical outcomes, techniques, service, trends or topics of general interest to dental professionals. Presenters are encouraged to approach their presentation as a mini-course of expert material for their fellow dentists on a technique, theory or concept that he or she may use to improve their clinical dentistry. Therefore, research presentations should emphasize clinical aspects, problems, and/or applications. Additionally, clinical topics should include useful techniques and innovative concepts.

Persons submitting presentations for the 2009 ADA Annual Session Professional Research Competition do so with the understanding that they abide by the conditions, policies, and decisions of the 2009 Council on ADA Sessions.

  1. All presenters must pre-register for the meeting and pay the appropriate registration fee by August 3rd.
  2. Presenters must have been directly involved in conducting the study, work or testing presented.
  3. Advertising matter, commercial promotion, and solicitation of sales of any type are prohibited.
  4. Drugs must be identified by their generic or chemical formula, rather than by commercial trade name.
