Lorinda Lewis loves to facilitate learning and “to challenge thinking so that learning happens”. She has been an on-site business trainer and facilitator for 18 years, with considerable experience in business communication, management, and leadership skills. Lorinda honed her sales, customer service, and merchandising skills as an outside salesperson. This prepared her for a career in sales, management, and training with General Mills, where she also was responsible for developing, leading, and implementing a district wide re-engineering and remodeling project. By using facilitation techniques and creating a comfortable climate for participants, Lorinda encourages interactive and experiential learning.

Description
It took years for business experts to recognize and begin to research the impact of emotions on work outcomes. They found that awareness of one’s emotional state, the ability to express emotions, and the ability to empathize with and understand other’s emotions and motivations is a key success factor in business. It is the “x” factor that differentiates the top 1% of the workforce from the other 99%. In this session, assess yourself on the 21 traits of an “emotionally intelligent” person. Understand how emotions evolve and how to “stop” the madness of out of control behaviors. Learn how to build consensus and rapport by asking critical questions. Develop your EI using the techniques you will learn.
