Dick Verbeek, CPIM, CIRM, CSCP, is the founder, owner, and president of Performance Plus Consultants, a continuous improvement and supply chain management consulting and training firm. He has experience in the industry of more than eighteen years from holding a variety of positions including materials manager, internal quality consultant, and information analyst. He led projects, which successfully achieved Class A MRPII registration, ISO9001 registration, and the implementation of VMI/CRP in the retail sector. Verbeek has an applied science degree from the University of Toronto. He served on the board of directors for the Toronto chapter of APICS from 1992-1995 and is a frequent speaker at the APICS International Conference and local chapter professional development meetings. Verbeek has assisted numerous organizations develop and implement sales and operations planning, demand management, and supply chain management business solutions.

Description
This presentation will challenge several common beliefs regarding the carbon footprint of a typical manufacturing supply chain. Specifically, this highly interactive session will utilize audience input to identify critical paradigms concerning the measurement and subsequent reduction of the carbon footprint of global supply chains. These paradigms will be challenged with the presentation of government, industry, and environmental data.
