Eve Carr is a Prospect Research Analyst with Georgetown University where she is embedded with the Medical Center team. She holds her MA and PhD in History from Arizona State University and began her research career as a historian. She transitioned into doing prospect research after developing an interest in fundraising and grant writing. Prior to joining the team at Georgetown she was in San Diego, most recently with Scripps Health Foundation.

Sharise Harrison has been working in the prospect research field for more than six years. After graduating from LaSalle University with a BA in history, her first position in non-profit development was asww a Research Assistant in the Office of Research and Records at Howard University. At Howard she supported a research staff of three and learned the basics of prospect research. She then went on to join The Foundation Center as a Program Associate for the Associates Program. Sharise specialized in aiding libray patrons, maintaining the program website and providing research to hundreds of nonprofits across the country on individuals, corporations and foundations. Currently Sharise is a Research Analyst at Georgetown University supporting the college, athletics and foundation relations departments.

Description
Over the last two years, Research at Georgetown University has made significant shifts in its structure and research model. Goals driving this initiative include increasing the effectiveness of the research team, meeting the needs of the various units supported, and balancing proactive and reactive research. This session will explore the rationales for restructuring, how research's role has changed, what it means to be "client-centric," and on-going challenges.
