"Claudia Looney has been Senior Vice President, Development at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles since January 2000. In addition to managing all aspects of the fund-raising activities, Mrs. Looney has overseen the capital campaign that has raised over $896 million to date. Prior to joining the hospital in 2000, Claudia served as President of Northwestern Memorial Foundation in Chicago. She was also Vice President for Planning and Advancement of CalArts in Valencia, CA; Senior Vice President of Saddleback Memorial Foundation, Director of Community Development for Orthopedic Hospital and Assistant Director of Community Resources at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Mrs. Looney began her career at the YWCA and Camp Fire Girls.
Mrs. Looney currently serves as Chair-Elect of the Woodmark Board, which oversees the Children’s Circle of Care program for the top 25 Children’s Hospitals in North America. She is past chair of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Foundation and a member of its International Ethics Committee. She is also a Fellow and past board member and Chair-Elect of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). "

James K. Looney is the principal of James Looney, Fund Raising Consultant LLC. Prior to forming his own firm he was Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director Grenzebach Glier & Associates, Inc. (GG&A) from 1998-2008. He has over 30 years of experience in development and non-profit organizations. Mr. Looney is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), and was Chair of the 1994 CASE District 7 conference. He is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and serves on the Board of Directors of the California YMCA Model Legislature and Court. He is the author of several books on non-profit management. Mr. Looney received a bachelor’s degree from Whittier College. He has also attended the University of Copenhagen, completed numerous professional courses in business management, training, and personnel, and pursued graduate study at California State University, Fullerton.
