Description
Why is it that the operating room temperature and relative humidity do not meet the standards on a design day? Why are my operating rooms not in compliance with the AIA and ASHRAE guidelines? Why does risk management and infection control look to me whenever infection rates become an issue in the operating theatre? My HVAC equipment is new (25 years old), why can't it satisfy the temperature and humidity requirements of my operating rooms today? If you have ever asked yourself these questions or have had them asked of you and struggled to provide a sound answer, or better yet, resolve these issues, then retro-commissioning can help you identify the causes, range of corrective actions and document the results. This session provides a case study. This session will enable attendees to:
- Identify root causes
- Identify cooling deficiencies
- Identify duct components that causes substantial pressure losses
- Development of design options to resolve cooling and ventilation problems
- Development of approaches to solution implementation
