Description
The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the health services research arm of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Its research specializes in areas such as: Quality improvement and patient safety, outcomes and effectiveness of care, clinical practice and technology assessment, and health care organization
and delivery systems, just to name a few. With more than 90 projects in a multiyear effort to improve patient safety, this session will highlight those specifically related to the physical environment and technology. This session will enable attendees to:
• Discuss what AHRQ is doing to advance the quality of health care patient safety.
• Identify current projects AHRQ has underway and how they will improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of health care.
• Discuss key priorities of the the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services related to the health care physical environment.
