Description
Learn how to use continuous monitoring of the health care physical environment to improve patient safety and alleviate infection prevention risks. This session will cover use of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Road Map for Quality Improvement as well as a variety of proven strategies for striving to prevent harm to patients caused by the physical environment of health care facilities. This session will be enable you to—

• Describe techniques for engaging clinical staff in physical environment compliance to reduce adverse outcomes and encourage staff to follow protocols.
• Describe options for improving patient safety through constant review and training of clinical staff for environmental safety factors.
