Description
This case study updates the information on prefabricated construction presented at the 2010 PDC Summit and focuses on the lessons learned by the Miami Valley project team.
Along with Case Study 3, this session will enable you to-
• Discuss various ways, as presented in the case studies, of identifying potential problems early in the delivery process for health care design and construction projects to avoid major impacts on cost and schedule.
• Assess the lessons learned from these projects and the strategies that were used to help improve efficiencies in project delivery in terms of application to other projects.
• Apply methods project teams have used, as shown in the case studies, to create adaptable healing environments that meet the health care needs of communities.
• List three methods, as presented in the case studies, that have been successfully used to measure the impact of design innovation on patient care.

  • Learn how to incorporate innovative techniques into a future project.
  • Learn the benefits and results of utilizing BIM and prefabrication on a healthcare project.
  • Understand the lessons learned and strategies from this project so that others in the A/E/C industry implementing prefabrication are more efficient.
