Description
Health care facilities face numerous challenges and are continually experiencing change. Factors such as new technologies, volatile reimbursements, consumer demographics, and performance metrics impact the ability to deliver effective patient care at the same time health care providers are placing increased emphasis on delivering patient- and family-centered care and promoting a healing environment. This session will enable you to-
• Describe the role, based on information provided in the presentation, that health care interior design professionals play in providing quality patient care environments.
• Explain how the expertise of an interior design professional, based on best practices, impacts a project team's ability to create physical environments that enable health care providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Discuss, using a review of case studies presented, methods that can be applied to update existing areas in a health care facility to better meet the needs of patients and health care providers.
• List three innovative strategies, as demonstrated in case studies, for adapting the principles presented to other projects and scenarios.
