Description
The 2010 Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities have been adopted by more than 10 state agencies and numerous federal agencies. The process for developing the 2014 Guidelines begins in early 2011, and input is needed on proposed additional subjects, changes to existing language, and removal of outdated requirements. Senior members of the Health Guidelines Revision Committee (HGRC) will facilitate this session, and all input will be recorded and reported on at the first meeting of the 2014 HGRC. This session will enable you to-
• Describe the elements of Part 3 of the Guidelines, based on summary presentations, that will directly affect health care facility design and construction projects in the next few years.
• Actively participate in the 2014 Guidelines revision cycle, applying your project experience to interpret and suggest improvements to this widely used document.
• Discuss issues in the planning, design, and construction of health care facilities that authorities having jurisdiction may expect your projects to comply with.
• Use information from others' experiences in applying this document to health care design and construction projects as lessons learned for your own projects.
