Description
This special briefing will provide information on the importance of health facility commissioning and discuss the ASHE commissioning guidelines published in July 2010. Gain an understanding of the importance of commissioning in terms of executive leadership support, preparation, cost-effectiveness, long-term impact, benefits today and tomorrow, and team support. Case studies will be used to demonstrate best practices. You will leave the briefing with a better of understanding of the where, when, why, and how for making commissioning a standard practice. This session will enable you to -
• Explain the benefits, using case study examples, of incorporating commissioning into health care facility projects beginning at the planning phase of project delivery.
• Describe, using case study examples, the aspects of commissioning that are relevant to the different phases of project delivery, from planning through occupancy.
• Use tools described in the presentation to evaluate the effect of beginning the commissioning process early on the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of building systems in a completed project.
• Assemble a project team that accepts inclusion of commissioning activities throughout project delivery and can help gain executive-level support for making this approach to commissioning a valuable tool in project delivery.
