Description
Many hospitals still struggle when developing a comprehensive emergency operations plan (EOP). The Joint Commission’s Emergency Management (EM) standards provide a good foundation for the EOP. This session will provide background on the EM requirements using a workshop format to demonstrate their use in developing the EOP. This session will enable you to— • Describe Joint Commission requirements for the EOP. • Index the EOP to make it functional for both the hospital user and the Joint Commission.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
Describe the Joint Commission requirements for the Emergency Operations Plan.
Develop an outline that organizes the EOP to meet the needs of the organization.
Identify additional items that may be included in a comprehensive EOP.
Index the EOP to make it functional for both the hospital user and the Joint Commission surveyor.
