Description
Facility managers are often placed in the role of chairing a hospital’s environment of care (EOC) committee. Although the EOC committee is one of the most important committees in the hospital, supporting both safety and compliance, many facility engineers don’t understand the work it can—and needs to—do. In this session, presented from the perspective of a Joint Commission Life Safety surveyor, you will hear ideas and examples of how to chair a successful EOC committee. This session will enable you to—
• Explain the role of the EOC chair.
• Develop strategies to manage and use EOC data from this committee for better outcomes.

LEARNER OUTCOMES:
  • Learn how to manage and use Data in this committee for better outcomes
  • Learn how to report information to senior leadership from the E.O.C. committee
  • Understand the make up and responsibility of the committee
  • Understand the roll of chair of this committee
