Description
As ASHE’s 2011 recipient of the Excellence in Facility Management Award, Memorial Hermann was recognized for both its process and its outcomes in energy efficiency and bottom-line utility improvements. Memorial Hermann will present graphs, statistics, and tools that can be implemented at your facility to improve the utility bottom line, reduce patient HVAC complaints, and earn team recognition via the ASHE E2C energy efficiency award process. Ultimately, resolving deferred maintenance issues with building controls, air-handling systems, and central heating/cooling plants will earn the Environmental Protection Agency’s coveted ENERGY STAR label for your hospital, which signifies the best of the best in energy efficiency. Memorial Hermann’s goal includes having all 14 campuses achieve both the ASHE E2C designation and the ENERGY STAR label for all applicable facilities. This session will enable you to—
• Describe how to gather energy data to enter into the free ENERGY STAR database to benchmark outcomes at your facility.
• Explain the benefits of goal-setting, team competition, and reward/recognition programs (E2C, ENERGY STAR) that can drive self-performing work groups at your campus.
