Description
A polarized debate is under way in the design industry on the potential harm and/or healing effects of water features in health care environments. This forum will explore the code and design implications of using indoor (unsealed) water features in hospitals. The panel will include an infection preventionist; a healing environments researcher; a water feature designer; and a facility manager. Attendees will have an opportunity for an interactive discussion with the panel. This session will enable attendees to:/p>

Describe the implications for infection prevention of including water features in health care facilities.
Discuss the benefits of including water features in healing environments.
Outline the most current design parameters of water features.
Apply lessons learned from the experience of others to maintenance of water features.
