Description
Although we live with medication errors and near-misses every day, we often forget their lifelong impact on patients. To shed light on the human side of medication errors, we’ll hear directly from those who’ve experienced it – but we’ll also focus on how human factors engineering helps ensure medication safety, and how "mistake proofing" can be applied in your organization.

  • Apply the concepts of human factors engineering in your practice as it relates to medication safety and use.
  • Apply the lessons learned and shared experiences to your daily medical practice in a health system.
  • Describe the concepts of human factors engineering as it relates to medication safety and use in your practice.
  • Describe the impact of medication errors and harm caused to patients and their families.
