Description
Could you use a little help in treating your most critical patients? This session is for you: besides getting up to speed on sedation, fluids and blood products in trauma, and new ACLS guidelines, you’ll learn about recently published studies and guidelines pertaining to ICU practice. By the time you leave, you’ll be ready to turn data on recent trials of analgesic and sedative agents into clinical practice.

  • Describe issues to consider when incorporating data from recent trials of analgesic and sedative agents into clinical practice.
  • List recent changes in advanced cardiac life support guidelines and the implications of these changes for clinical practice in the ICU.
  • Name fluids or blood product derivatives that have been shown to reduce mortality in trauma patients and the implications of applying this information to the ICU setting.
