Description
The Joint Commission’s medication management standards provide a foundation for safe medication processes as well as define requirements for survey. This session will address new areas of focus and challenging standards, as well as provide practical recommendations for meeting expectations set forward by the standards.
- Cite at least 1 recommended strategy for compliance with each of the top 4 cited medication standards.
- Describe 2 significant changes to the medication management standards and NPSG for 2013.
- Identify key issues found on survey relating to the top 4 challenging medication management standards.
