Description
The session will discuss current health policy issues being considered by federal and state policy makers. Attendees will hear the various perspectives on these issues, the impact on hospital pharmacy practice and be updated on advocacy by ASHP and other pharmacy organizaitons.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Identify the major health policy issues considered by Congress, the Department of Health and Human Services, and state boards of pharmacy.
  • Compare and contrast the positions of policymakers and affected stakeholders on major federal and state health policy issues.
  • Describe the jurisdiction of boards of pharmacy and the Food and Drug Administration on health policy issues.
