Description
This session is part of the professional development program for recertification of Board Certified Oncology Pharmacists (BCOPs), approved by the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) and co-sponsored by The American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the Hematology/Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA). BCOPs must attend all six hours of programming (both Parts I & II) to be eligible to complete the Web-based post test for oncology recertification credit. Partial credit is not available. The post test fee is $40.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Describe the risk factors associated with VTE in cancer patients and discuss recommendations for VTE prophylactic and treatment strategies.
  • Identify appropriate tools used to determine prognosis and benefits from adjuvant systemic therapies for early-stage breast cancer patients.
  • Compare and contrast available data with adjuvant chemotherapy regimens and different approaches to therapy.
  • Differentiate among the most important treatment-related risk factors for the development of late complications in survivors of childhood cancer.
  • Describe common physical, psychological and social problems in survivors of childhood cancers
