Description
Convergent demographic changes are impacting the American workforce - the approaching retirement of 76 million Baby Boomers, an increasing ethnic diversity, and an increasing number of women in the workforce – all of which will affect the demand for healthcare services as well as our ability to provide those services. Reducing the number of open positions in your institution will require creative, flexible work arrangements as well as supportive, enriching work environments for people in all cycles of life. Creating such work environments for themselves while meeting the needs of their patients, their employers, and their co-workers, will require pharmacists to take the initiative. In this interactive session, participants will: 1) discuss ways to increase job satisfaction; 2) understand key components of a staff-managed scheduling committee; 3) learn how to develop a long-term holiday schedule; 4) learn how to write and implement a successful scheduling proposal.
