Description
Practicing clinicians face a number of recent and historical controversies in the field of specialized nutrition support: Is parenteral or enteral nutrition most appropriate for the critically-ill patient? Do specialty enteral nutrition formulas improve patient outcome? Has parenteral nutrition been shown to improve patient outcome? Is an unstable parenteral nutrition admixture harmful? This session will present a practical strategy to resolve these and other questions using an evidence-based approach.

Presentations:
- Evidence-Based Recommendations for Hypocaloric Feeding Regimens and Enteral vs. Parenteral Nutrition in Critically-Ill and Trauma Patient Populations
- Joint Commission Update: Medication-Related Standards
