Description
Anticoagulation management service programs benefit inpatient and outpatient healthcare organizations along the continuum of care. In analysis of more than 700,000 patients, those being treated in institutions with standardized anticoagulation management services had shortened hospital stays and decreased rates of bleeding and transfusions compared to patients in institutions without such services. This session speaks to the benefits of an anticoagulation service program and explores methods to select an interdisciplinary team.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
-
Distinguish the complexity of anticoagulation medications.
-
Recognize the benefits of an Anticoagulation Management Service.
-
Select the appropriate interdisciplinary team.
