Bill Hammock is a Vice President and Senior Consultant with Marsh USAs Global Healthcare Consulting Practice. He has over twenty five years of healthcare management experience with particular focus on case management, revenue cycle, quality management, and enterprise risk management. A registered nurse and certified case manager, Bill provided corporate oversight for clinical operations for a large multi-hospital healthcare system and has become nationally known for launching successful programs that simultaneously reduce ALOS and cost per case, improve medical record documentation, increase reimbursement, mitigate risk, improve throughput, and improve publicly reported quality scores.

Ms. Burkhart is Vice President, Marsh Risk Consulting and has over 20 years of domestic and international clinical risk management and safety consulting experience with healthcare organizations. She has published numerous articles on risk managment and safety-related topics and holds adjunctive faculty appointments at Rush University and the University of Illinois.
Description
The Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program represents a significant risk exposure for healthcare organizations. This session will provide an overview of the RAC program including liability issues related to healthcare fraud and abuse, data mining concerns related to RACS, and present solutions to reduce the overall risks associated with RAC exposures.
