As the Principal of Quality Plus Solutions LLC a risk consulting business based in Maryland, she conducts risk assessments nationwide and assists local organizations with risk and patient safety initiatives. As a Legal Nurse Expert, she remains abreast of current litigation in Behavioral Health. Monica's passion is helping organizations in assuring quality care and mitiating risk with the behavioral health population.

Description
Proper handling of behavioral health patients must home in on high-value risk areas to reduce liability and improve safety. Unfortunately, few best practices have been established. Most facilities do a good job at implementing proactive risk reduction but need to move up to the next level. This presentation shares tools and resources for understanding the importance of assessment and reassessment of high-risk patients, particularly in the emergency department and primary care settings.
