DDr. Benjamin Gonzales has been in health care risk management for over 35 years. He works with 36 hospitals in Montana as the Director of Risk Management for the Montana Health Network. In this role, Ben provides education and risk management services for Corporate Compliance, HIPAA, Healthcare Risk Control and Workers Compensation loss prevention. He has a doctorate degree in theology and religious studies, which helps him tremendously while working with culturally and ethnically diverse communities. Ben has been an active member of ASHRM serving on numerous task forces and committees. Ben currently sits on the ASHRM Board of Directors.

Description
This session is designed to assist new risk managers in their role as leader. It can help them identify strengths and weaknesses within their style of leadership, apply best practices in order to develop a plan to turn from reactive to proactive solutions and develop strategies for dealing with difficult situations and people.
