Chris Coleianne (pronounced COAL EE ANN) is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Loyola College of Maryland in 1993. He has been with Aon since 2006, and performs actuarial analyses for a variety of self-insured clients, including hospitals and long term care providers.
He co-authored the Aon's 2006 and 2007 Long Term Care Liability Studies and was on the team that produced this year's Hospital Professional Liability Study.

Erik is an Associate Director & Actuary with Aon Global Risk Consulting in Raleigh, NC. Erik currently serves as the Healthcare Practice Leader for Aon’s Actuarial & Analytics Practice. As a consulting actuary to the healthcare industry, Erik works with his clients to best manage and maintain self insured professional liability exposures. He works with a wide variety of healthcare organizations including hospital systems, long term care providers, and physician groups. In addition to his client work, Erik authors the annual Aon/ASHRM Hospital Professional Liability and Physician Liability Benchmarking Study. Erik is a frequent speaker on professional liability benchmarking results and trends.
Description
Aon and ASHRM partner each year to collect professional liability claim data from hospitals throughout the United States. The report and presentation include findings regarding the frequency and severity of claims. In an effort to quantify the impact of new CMS regulations, the study includes benchmarking of claims for hospital acquired conditions. Claim frequency and severity per birth (in the OB) and per emergency visit are also used to track the effects of patient safety initiatives.
