Description
Childrens National Medical Center, Cincinnati Childrens Hospital and Helen Devos Childrens Hospital created a multi hospital collaborative to accelerated learning and become a gold standard for how to virtually eliminate Serious Safety Events in pediatric and neonatal health care. The presentation will demonstrate how the science of high reliability can impact practice and materially reduce serious adverse events. This level of cooperation and cross referencing does not currently exist within healthcare and could become a future model for standardizing metrics and establishing best practices.

  • Discuss safety culture and share information about Patient Safety at 3 Children's Hospitals
  • Discuss Safety Event Classification, Human Error Classification and Safety Metrics
  • Introduce new strategies and best practices towards eliminating Serious Safety Events.
