Marjorie Thomas began her career in health care administration and risk management at Bellevue Hospital in New York City. She has been with PRI since 1985 and is administratively responsible for the Risk Management and Underwriting Departments.
Marjorie also serves as a faculty member/facilitator at PRI's educational sessions. She is also a co-author of the book, "Practicing Medicine in Difficult Times".
Marjorie holds a Masters degree in Public Administration and the ARM and RPLU designations. She is also a Fellow of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management.

Gerri Donohue, Associate Director of Risk Management Education, Physicians' Reciprocal Insurers
Gerri Donohue is a Clinical Nurse Specialist who maintained a private psychotherapy practice,treating individuals and families,for 18 years.
At PRI, Ms. Donohue has led the team responsible for the development of educational programs since 1995, in addition to serving as a faculty member/facilitator at the eucational sessions. Gerri is co-author of a recently published book,"Practicing Medicine in Difficult Times".
Ms. Donohue holds a Masters of Science degree, the ARM designation and is also a Fellow of the American Society of Healthcare Risk Management.
Description
In this session we will share our experience in the use of simulation in our online course, and the use of standardized patients in our workshops, to help attending physicians enhance their communication skills. The session will demonstrate the value of these modalities in improving clinical communication and thereby, patient safety. The nature of the session will invite a significant amount of interaction and participation from attendees.
