Description
This session will walk the healthcare risk manager through the steps involved when there is a property "disaster". There is a popular misconception that when disaster strikes all that needs to occur is a phone call to the broker or property carrier. This session will discuss what to do before the claims adjustor arrives so that the loss can be minimized. Business interruption coverage will be discussed to include the data necessary to support the claim.
LEARNER OUTCOMES:
Develop a comprehensive loss control plan to include managing business interruption losses.
Discuss the mitigation of damages prior to the claims adjustor's arrival and the risk manager's role
Understand the causes and potential severity of property claims typically seen in healthcare.
