Mr. West is currently employed as a Senior Healthcare Consultant with Global Loss Prevention, a member company of Chartis. He holds a law degree from Chase College of Law, a Masters degree in Health Services Administration from Xavier University, and a bachelors degree from the University of Cincinnati. He holds the designation of distinguished fellow of the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) and has received the Distinguished Service Award from ASHRM, which is its highest honor. He is also a certified professional in healthcare risk management.

Description
This presentation will focus on recent case law of interest to health care risk managers. Presentation materials will include cases on emergency medicine, informed consent, medical malpractice, litigation strategy, behavioral health and medical staff issues. Each case summary includes a recitation of the facts of the matter, the court’s analysis, and why this case matters to risk managers.
