Kristin is a Senior Consultant and Actuary in Aon's Baltimore, Maryland office and is a co-author of the Aon/ASHRM 2010 Hospital Professional Liability and Physician Liability Benchmark Analysis. She has primary project responsibility for actuarial reserve and loss forecasting analyses, risk allocation analyses and captive feasibility studies. She has special expertise on healthcare accounts particularly hospital professional liability and routinely pepares various healthcare benchmarks for clients.
Kristin graduated in 2004 from Loyola University in Maryland with a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences. She is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Erik A. Johnson, FCAS, MAAA, Assistant Director & Actuary/Healthcare Practice Leader, Aon Global Risk Consulting
Erik is an Associate Director & Actuary with Aon Global Risk Consulting in Raleigh, NC. Erik currently serves as the Healthcare Practice Leader for Aon’s Actuarial & Analytics Practice. As a consulting actuary to the healthcare industry, Erik works with his clients to best manage and maintain self insured professional liability exposures. He works with a wide variety of healthcare organizations including hospital systems, long term care providers, and physician groups. In addition to his client work, Erik authors the annual Aon/ASHRM Hospital Professional Liability and Physician Liability Benchmarking Study. Erik is a frequent speaker on professional liability benchmarking results and trends.
Description
The presentation will review the research performed and presented within the 2010 Aon/ASHRM Benchmarking Report which will be released prior to the ASHRM meeting. The key findings generally include updated trends in claim frequency, claim severity, and cost of risk for professional liability claims. The research presented will include claim benchmarks specific to obstetrics, emergency department, and surgical areas of the hospital. Additionally, we will present benchmarks and trends regarding hospital acquired conditions.
